3 Ridiculously Touristy Things in Beverly Hills

So you want to go to Beverly Hills.  Are you old school and remember the Eddie Murphy, Beverly Hills Cop movies?  Are you simply curious about Rodeo Drive?  Do you want to go just to say you’ve been?  The reason doesn’t really matter…you do you.  Let’s see if you’ve considered these 3 touristy Beverly Hills ideas.

Beverly Hills Tourist List

#1: The most obvious…Rodeo Drive.  It’s only 3 blocks long, but they packed a lot of leading international brands into those 3 blocks.  Parking might be a bit of a challenge, but the site itself might make the effort worth it.  It’s your story to tell…

#2: The Beverly Hotel.  It’s been around for over a century so they’re doing something right.  The pink and green colors make the hotel unmistakable.  And remember that mention in February’s post about Paul R. Williams?  You can go see his handiwork for yourself.  Do yourself a favor and keep in mind that there are 2 iconic hotels, don’t get them confused.  The Beverly Wilshire isn’t the pink/green one you’re looking for, although it is a high end property.  The one I’m referencing here with Paul R. Williams, is the Beverly Hotel on Sunset Blvd.

#3: The Greystone Mansion, aka the Doheny Mansion.  This one might be new to you.  The 18.3 acre site was formally dedicated as a public park by the city of Beverly Hills in 1971.  The mansion itself is only open for special events, but the grounds are open daily for anyone to visit and the parking is free.  You’ll get some really nice views of Los Angeles and walking around the grounds is simply a peaceful way to spend an afternoon.

A trip to Los Angeles isn’t quite complete without at least a stop to one of these Beverly Hills spots.  Plan well and you might be able to hit all three.  Need a little help?  Just let me know.

Until next time,

May the road rise to meet you and the wind be at your back.
