Well folks, that’s all she wrote for 2023!  It’s been a complete year since starting this love blog to California and I hope you’ve found some really interesting nuggets of information about the Golden State.  It’s been fun revisiting some of the locales and events that are unique to California and I hope you’ve gotten to experience them for yourself.

2024 Journey

The California journey continues in 2024.  We again start off with the Tournament of Roses Parade and the traditional Rose Bowl Game.  (you can check out the 2023 post here)  The parade theme this year is “Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language”.  The grand marshal is Audra McDonald…if you’ve followed her career, you know she’s a perfect choice for grand marshal.  The lady can SING (and act).  The parade starts at 8 a.m. pacific and if you miss it, you can always catch the stream which will be available until January 14th.

After the parade, if you’re a college football fan, the Rose Bowl will host the game between Michigan and Alabama.  Pre-game festivities pop off at 1:00 pacific.  I’m not a fan of college sports, so I’ll leave it right there.

2024 Expectations

During 2024, we’re going to explore a little more of the central part of the state and also some of the national and state parks.  It might turn out to be a very outdoorsy blog year.  We’ll see.  There are a lot of music festivals that I wanted to talk about and share with you in 2023, but time got away from me.  We’ll explore those in 2024.  Maybe this will be the year of outdoors and music…

I do hope that everyone had a wonderful close to 2023.  Here’s to an even better 2024 where the California adventures will continue.  I’m here for it if you are!
